Hello folks, I want to announce that a new beta version of Psychill Space is now live! You may have noticed lack of updates recently, that s because I was working full time on a brand new version of Psychill Space! The upgraded early version is now live you may still notice some bugs, some mockups and encounter some errors, but for the most part, it is working. I need your help with testing it!
What s new at Psychill Space?
You may be asking, what s the fuss about? Besides refreshed look and optimizations there are couple new features. Let me introduce you:
The Psychedelic Community
Psychill Space is now becoming the full-blown hub for the psychedelic community. I have added several new social features, such as:
Activity Feed
Share your thoughts, achievements, favorite albums or questions with friends or strangers, Facebook style except there is no algorithm to decide what you see you choose whether you want to see posts from everyone, or just people you follow.
Chat Channels
Inspired by Discord and IRC, You can now join live chat channels. Updated in real-time, join live discussions about anything you like.
Forum Discussions
For any serious topics, just hit up a forum! Inspired by Reddit traditional forums, you can share your thoughts, browse and discuss in a forum format.
Easy Music Sharing
Share your favorite albums, tracks or artists with ease using database search, or just paste URL from your favorite streaming service or Bandcamp and let the system convert the link to an embed containing a 30-second preview and links to various streaming services (Bandcamp + Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, Youtube, Soundcloud are supported).
Browse shape music profiles
In music, and especially psychedelic music sometimes browsing by BPM and genre feels insufficient. We have many energetic tracks that have actually BPM of 80, or some of our favorite chillout psydub tracks might actually be 145 BPM or more. BPM is a very technical term, and the energy is better described by using terms like Kinetic and Layered . Don t just categorize tracks by one or two genres, some artists masterfully blend several genres. The database needs your help to shape the profiles, though.

About the Present and Future of Psychill Space
Currently, the website is in heavy development. Some features are missing, and I have even more planned. I hope to get some people to help test current features before I add more of them. There are some small bugs that are being currently worked on. As soon as I m finished with these, I will be adding more features in nearest future such as images, GIFs, polls and I have even more planned in following weeks and months, but these things are secret for now 🙂
To really get the website started I will need your help with testing and especially shaping music profiles.
Where did the idea come from?
The idea for social upgrade came from myself being tired of Facebook, Discord and other platforms that we re now experiencing enshittification of in recent years. Stupid algorithms, pricey decorations, increasing amounts of ads, tracking, and now AI profiling, ID verification, etc
The goal is to create a safe haven to hangout without bots, without the bullshit algorithms, fake accounts, spam and scams.
How did you make the website? Is it made with AI?
As I started to encounter issues with Directus, while it s nice and lightweight, I realised it might be hard to implement new, more advanced features. After thorough research I decided to migrate CMS to headless WordPress, and keep user data in a safe Postgresql database. The frontend is made with Nuxt, ensuring quick load times and flexibility for development. I did use AI to make the frontend work within specified frameworks after I designed how the system is supposed to work and look.
Is it safe?
Safety was my main concern when designing the upgrade. But as far as I can tell with AI tests but also experience with my 10+ year passion with frontend websites and making of Javascript games, technical school, experience as a webmaster + a recent Cybersecurity certificate, the website is safe to register and use. Besides that, the website collects no private data and thanks to Google OAuth not even your password, so there s nothing really worth hacking.
Why only Google login?
The Google login is to ensure authenticity of users, to prevent malicious bots creating infinite accounts and spamming, to decrease risk of potential scammers and for safe login. If for some reason you still have doubts, don t worry, more login options will be available soon. Until then, you can just subscribe to newsletter.
