About
Psychill Space
From a Discord server to a full community platform — our journey through psychedelic music culture.
Our Story
Psychill Space began in 2021 as the PsyDowntempo Discord — a small chat server for producers and fans of psychedelic downtempo music. Originally created as a place to share tracks, discuss production techniques, and connect with like-minded listeners, the community quickly grew beyond what a Discord server could handle.
As the community expanded, we renamed ourselves Psychill Community and began outgrowing the limitations of Discord — bot noise, discoverability issues, and the lack of a proper music database made it clear we needed something more. We wanted a dedicated space for the psychill scene that could serve as both an archive and a living community.
In 2025, we launched Psychill Space — a full community platform built from the ground up. It combines a curated music database, community forums, event listings, and social features into one home for everyone who loves psychedelic ambient, downtempo, and the broader spectrum of visionary electronic music.

Beyond Psychill
While our roots are in psychill and psybient, the platform is designed to embrace the full spectrum of electronic and psychedelic music — from ambient and dub techno to psytrance, downtempo, IDM, and beyond. Our music profiling system uses quality-of-sound descriptors (organic/synthetic, dark/luminous, meditative/danceable) rather than rigid genre labels, so it works equally well for any style of music.
The Discord is Still Alive
Our original Discord community is still going strong with around 2,000 members. Join us there for real-time conversations, music sharing, and community hangouts.
