Terms of Service

Last updated: Jun 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PsychillSpace ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

PsychillSpace is a community-driven platform for psychill, psybient, ambient, and psychedelic downtempo music. Born from the PsyDowntempo Discord (2021), which became the Psychill Community and later Psychill Space, the website launched as a blog in 2025 and grew into a full music community platform in 2026. It provides a curated music database, social features (feed, threads, friends), community voting on mood profiles and genre affinity, and a blog — all built with an artist-first philosophy.

3. User Accounts

  • You must sign in via Google OAuth or a Passkey to access community features
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform
  • One account per person — alternate accounts may be suspended

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you post (reviews, ratings, comments, messages). By posting, you grant PsychillSpace a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and store your content as part of the Platform's functionality.

You agree not to post content that:

  • Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains spam, malware, or deceptive links
  • Impersonates another person or entity
  • Violates the privacy of others

5. Music Content & Artist-First Values

The music database on PsychillSpace is curated for informational and community purposes. Album art, track listings, and metadata are used under fair use for reference and community discussion. Streaming links direct users to official platforms where artists are compensated.

Track previews, where available, are provided from sources we are authorised to use. PsychillSpace does not require users to connect streaming accounts and does not share user account data with streaming platforms for previews.

When you upload audio as part of a music submission, you confirm that you are the rights holder or have explicit authorisation to upload the recording. You grant PsychillSpace a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, cache, and stream that audio as part of the Platform. Audio uploads are private and inaccessible to the public until the submission has been reviewed and approved.

Preview clips (30–90 seconds) may be made publicly streamable upon approval. Full track uploads are hosted only when you have chosen to provide them. If you select Stream only, the track may be streamed on the Platform but will not be made available for download. If you select Stream + download, you additionally grant users permission to download a personal copy of the recording for non-commercial listening. You may revoke download permission at any time by contacting us; files already downloaded cannot be recalled.

Audio files uploaded with a rejected or withdrawn submission will be deleted within 30 days of the decision unless you request earlier removal. You may request deletion of any audio file you uploaded by contacting us.

We are committed to supporting artists and labels. We will always prioritise linking to artist-friendly platforms (Bandcamp, artist websites). Full tracks are only hosted with the explicit permission of the rights holder as described above.

6. Community Guidelines

  • Be respectful and constructive in all interactions
  • Stay on topic — keep discussions relevant to psychill music and culture
  • No hate speech, discrimination, or personal attacks
  • No excessive self-promotion or commercial spam
  • Respect moderator decisions

7. Moderation & Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove content that violates these terms
  • Temporarily or permanently suspend accounts
  • Modify or implement new community guidelines

8. DMCA & Copyright Policy

PsychillSpace respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe that content on this platform infringes your copyright, please submit a takedown notice as described on our DMCA Policy page.

We will promptly investigate valid claims and remove infringing material. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated. Counter-notices may be filed by users who believe content was removed in error.

9. Analytics & Session Recording

PsychillSpace uses privacy-friendly analytics tools to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it:

  • Umami Cloud Analytics — cookie-free, privacy-first page analytics. No personal identifiers are collected for advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session behaviour analytics including heatmaps and session recordings, used in cookie-free mode. No cookies are set. Session recordings may capture interactions with the Platform UI. Data is processed by Microsoft under their Privacy Statement.

Neither tool is used for advertising or cross-site tracking. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

PsychillSpace is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Platform, including data loss, service interruptions, or third-party content.

11. Subscriptions & Payments

PsychillSpace offers an optional "Explorer" monthly subscription at $4.00 USD/month, billed through Stripe.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time via the subscription management page. Perks remain active until the end of the current billing period.
  • Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle.
  • Digital perks (badges, cosmetics, feature access) are tied to an active subscription and are suspended upon cancellation.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
