Shwamp s Inner Landscape (2019) might be one of the most overlooked albums of past decade. Its mysterious soundscapes are excellently complemented by deep basslines and glitchy ear candy, making it a perfect companion for all travels without leaving home. The gem was released on known and beloved Mindspring Music.
Entering Inner Landscape
The album starts with We re Lost, a somewhat dark and mysterious beginning setting the tone to the album. Its atmosphere might feel a little unsettling at first, but its sound design and arrangement are so intriguing you quickly get lost in the sound. The ambiences are perfectly combined with glitchy percussions and subtle influences of dubstep/bass music.
Next up we have Who Are You , perhaps one of the best tracks Shwamp ever released certainly a favorite of mine. Its hypnotizing bassline easily draws you in. The atmosphere is simultaneously dark and bright, a contradiction I undoubtedly love, and always emphasize how good it feels. The chords are so playful, and its arrangement is perfect. The drops are guaranteed to release some dopamine you didn t know you still have.

Shwamp s Sound
Shwamp is the musical project of Louis Ossiere, born in Bordeaux, France. He s a true visionary, both shaping sounds and creating art he even made the cover for Inner Landscape himself. His musical style is fairly experimental he takes inspiration from genres like Downtempo, Glitch, Psybass and Psydub. He s very prolific since he started releasing music in 2017, he released 5 full-length albums, complemented with EPs and single releases each a completely different style of sound, proving the artist s versatility.
Last Words
Inner Landscape is a great introductory album to Shwamp s soundscapes, especially for people who appreciate unconventional sound design. However, Shwamp has very diverse and solid discography I m sure I ll revisit another of his releases soon enough.
