Finding truly excellent new psychedelic chill music this year felt like searching the desert for an oasis. A land of promise, then long stretches of flat sea. When a record finally surfaces that actually holds your attention, it’s a delight. Geoglyph’s Otherworldly is that island.
A Warm Soundscape
This masterful psychill album opens with a deliberate, unhurried build: synths and subtle instrumentation swirl like fog lifting over a dawning dreamy landscape. “Desert Sky,” the first cut, lands with percussive fidelity I haven’t heard much of lately. It is a percussion that propels rather than overwhelms. Flutes and airy vocals weave through the rhythm, and the track ends with a sudden hush, as if signaling the sun has risen on the next movement.
From “A Gentle Breeze” to “Otherworldly”
Next, “A Gentle Breeze” is just like its name; a beautiful collage of ethnic beats and lush synth textures. Deep, comforting bass softens the groove while a sparkling melody lifts you to a soft, trancey summit in your mind. The title track, “Otherworldly,” then coaxes you farther in: bass heavy, tender, and quietly seductive, its layers feel like a warm current guiding you in through an unfamiliar sea.
From there, other tracks like “Crossing by Night” and “Water Channel” steer the listener into soft, tasteful head-space shifts. It is psychedelic but friendly, never over indulgent. The album’s strength is its balance: rousing synth lines, complementary harmonic instruments, and an ever-present, grounding bass that ties the essence together.

Layered Textures and Deep Low-end Clarity
Released in September 2025 onOver The Moon Music, Otherworldly wears its influences lightly with Desert Dwellers and Kaya Project but Geoglyph (who’s collaborated with Globular) makes these sounds his own. He even learned bass guitar for this project, and the bass playing adds textured weight to the electronic palette and gives the album a palpable warmth.
A Meditative and Transportive Listening Experience
This work is best enjoyed on headphones with your eyes closed, as Otherworldly invites you to relax and float. It is a soothing, immersive journey into desert vistas and oceanic calm. If you’ve felt starved for quality psychill lately, this album is a welcome delight. Highly recommended.
