Zymosis is a psychedelic music project from Ukraine. Over the past 20 years, they have become prominent figures in the psy-electronic scene, known for their unique blend of psytrance, ambient, and downtempo sounds. Their music aims to expand consciousness and take listeners on a deep, trance-like journey. Some of their notable albums include “Between Two Points” (2012) and “Insight” (2017), and released recently album “Memento” (2024).
Their latest album is a beautiful symphony of glitched breaks, instrumentals, vocalizations, arpeggios, and captivating basslines. It evokes a wide range of emotions—from nostalgia and reflection to hope and energy. The piano and violin melodies draw you into a reflective state, only to glitch out and interlace with some of the best breaks and basslines I’ve heard in a while. The instrumentals lead you into a shower of twisted percussion. The intricate melodies and polished percussion blend together seamlessly, creating an all-encompassing, mysterious yet energetic atmosphere. The album perfectly balances darkness and hopefulness, offering an ideal mix of chill and energy for me. Its tracks provide you with a wide variety of sounds and yet the album is very coherent in its style. It’s a 10/10 experience for me.
